“One of the few barbers in Athens nowadays is Ioannis (John) Magkanas who, in spite of time I decided to follow my father’s profession who owned a barber-shop 45 years in Fokionos Negri. From a young age i started training next to experienced and talented barbers.

My experience started in Hilton Hotel’s barber shop where I stayed until 1990. After that i have worked in various barber shops in Kolonaki and N. Psychiko until 1996. Then i decided to open my own barber shop in N. Psychiko. All these years i managed to create a strong and loyal clientele of businessmen, doctors, lawyers, singers, journalists, etc.

After 24 years in this profession i came to the conclusion that men’s haircut is purely a male’s responsibility. When you enter my barbershop you will notice many old tools that I inherited and collected from various barbers such as razors, brushes, hand mowers, etc. Those who seek a clean, nice and male haircut come and find me in my barbershop in N. Psychiko”
